Making a sale is like playing a game. There are rules, a pitch, a score board, and a league to play in. Look at the coaching support a sports team requires. I believe it is the same with a sales team. In the face of the uncertain economic environment, the sales team required more motivation, and more skills, and more administration support to stay at the top of their game.

SALES TEAM COACHING
To get to the heart of the matter and make a difference in sales, I like to work in the sales department for 3 months.

In the first month I get to know the sales environment, customer base, and the sales team dynamic. If there are recruitment and system needs these are addressed straight away. I work in the company to understand all the issues so that each one is addressed.

I use Marcus Buckingham’s Now Discover Your Strengths! as a team motivation tool to strengthen the relationships and the respect within the team. By building the strengths of each team member, the team as a whole gets strong. In mapping the strengths, we see where the team can rely on itself to get the result.

In the second month, any more training required is completed, and we watch the score board very closely to understand our game and craft the path towards a consistent result

In the third month, the new and better results are showing up, and then I monitor the team with the manager.

I often put in more time at the front end to get the team in the air and flying, and I spread the hours billed evenly over the first 3 months.

Working with teens to find their strengths and designing plans to make the maximum use of these is very valuable indeed.
